Job description

Interior plastering
Auckland

Published: 11 August 2015

I need the kitchen wall gibbed and plastered to prepare for new cabinetry. It is double layered with 1 x 13mm GIB Noiseline (supplied on-site) on the battens which is exactly two sheets (2.4M) and then 1x10mm GIB Aqualine (supplied on-site) which is approximately 3M. The existing GIB on the wall will need to be squared. The GIB will also need to accommodate about 4 x cutouts for power outlets. Additionally, I need 2 x light fixture holes in bulkhead to be patched along with 1 x patch of approximately 50cm x 20cm at the base of another wall.

Steve was quick to contact, quote the job and was good with communication. While the work was carried out by Steve's sub-contractor in the agreed time frame, it was of below average finish. One wall was completely bowed as electrical cable was left sandwiched between two linings of gib (resolved) and the finish at the base of one of the sheets was poor. The contractor also used my gib saw which they broke and neglected to say anything until I questioned them the following day.
