We are trying to get a wall removed to open up a small kitchen into an open plan design. We have had several people mention the use of a steel beam for the full length of the room, ideal. Or a beam to replace the wall with a post in the middle, doable. Either option works for us. We are trying to avoid having to involve council. But we want to do this fully legally. Will involve moving electrical switches, power points and telephone line. This project would work with in with two other major projects. job #44260 and job #44263 Ideally we could get this completed by mid-Nov. The rush isn't really Christmas, it's the baby that's due a few weeks afterwards. Currently am looking for a builder to start with. To all the electrical contractors responding, thank you. But we need to talk to the builders first to see if the project can go forward before end of Nov. Viewing of job(s) available this weekend and Tuesdays. Mater tradesmen apply only please.
