Gib stopping re-lined walls

We have relined all four walls in two bedrooms, and one wall each in another two bedrooms (enlarging the wardrobes in these walls and relining). We have also stripped wallpaper from the hallway and would like it skim coated. The bedrooms are all around 3mx3m and the ceilings are slightly higher than standard. Hallway is approximately 5m. Would also like to know if you finish by hand or with machine. Thanks.
