Leak from shower into gib

Job description

Plasterboard Repair
Auckland

Published: 22 August 2016

The shower backs onto a bedroom which we were painting at the weekend. There was a section of loose paint which peeled back to reveal a damp spot, which matches up with where the rear corner of the shower is. The shower has a very small gap in between the glass shower wall and the bathroom wall which is damp at the base at the back, approximately where the damp is showing on the other side of the wall. The shower walls fit into the base of the shower but unknown how well this is sealed, could well be a leak splashing up through the gap. Need this fixed by the weekend. At a guess it requires a section of gib removed and replaced and the shower sealed. Hopefully not extensive damage behind the gib.

Catalin went above and beyond the call of duty to get this small job completed within a short time frame. Quality workmanship and extremely polite and helpful. He also smoothed out some of the wall which had visible dents and bumps from previous owners, and patched another bubble under the wallpaper at no extra charge, despite being under time pressure. Great communication.
