wall paper hanger

I have one bedroom that I have stripped the old "popcorn" wallpaper off and am having trouble getting the backing off what is left on the walls.. I doubt it will be suitable to paint like the other rooms as I think it will be too rough..so need someone to hang wallpaper for me.. unless it can be stripped and sanded flat enough to paint?..
