Job description

Landscape Design
Waitakere

Published: 11 April 2010

I'm looking at a plan to landscape my garden. The property is a reasonably new build so no landscaping has been done except a few plants around the border. These don't seem to be doing too well, possibly as the soil is poor (clay). The grounds used to be paddocks for stock. The space is small so the design needs to take the size of the garden into consideration. Its approx 16sqm total. The ground is currently sloped which means its unusable as it is for entertaining. Some key requirements for the design: * Increase privacy (trellis fence was dictated by Body Corp so need to increase the privacy through planting) * Add a entertaining area (the existing patio is just big enough for a small table) I would prefer a design that allows for it to be done in phases. I'm open to any materials to be used (paving, decking, retaining walls etc) Also im not sure what council restrictions there are - however the body corp has advised the following "you can only place permeable materials; so for example the patio can only be slightly increased, then use stones and cobble stones - the restriction allows for water drainage." The garden is truly a blank canvas, I have no set plans so interested in getting quotes based on your ideas for what can be achieved. I'm unable to meet people at the property during the day so please email me if you have questions before being able to quote - need to work off the photos provided at this stage.
