Central heating job

We have an old style central heating unit under our house (approx 1960s). There is a vent in our hallway and a flue in the hallway cupboard. The heating unit has not been used in a long time. We would like this be inspected to check that it has been disconnected and then the vent to be boarded over so we can carpet the hallway. If possible, the flue to also be removed.
