Job description

Weatherboard Repair
Johnsonville, Wellington

Published on 4 March 2025

Our house is only about 8 years old, and dark painted weatherboards. On the rear of the property (where it gets a lot of sun and heat) minor surface cracks are obvious where the weatherboards meet and the paint has cracked. It’s not a big problem as it’s weathertight and still in good condition. It’s more just a visual issue at this stage. We want to prevent it becoming a problem. We tried to fix it ourselves with wood filler and paint, but it just looks bad. We have been advised the best thing to do would be to install vertical metal “soakers” over the cracks where the weatherboards meets. We would then paint the entire wall ourselves. So we are looking for a builder who can recommend the right soakers, and come and install these properly for us. There are 16 to be done. It’s pretty easy access, would just need a ladder to get the higher ones. Please provide a quote if you’re interested in sorting this for us, thank you.
