Paint/repair job in a seperate toilet room

Have recently had a toilet and basin replaced in a seperate toilet room (only one in house). There is a hole in the wall from where the old basin sat - also the old backing to come off. The room needs painting. Might be open to having tiles over where the hole is if that’s easier? Then I have some vinyl flooring tiles I’d like glued? Over the existing tiled flooring.
