Two similar rigid frame (i.e. mortice and tenon) external wooden gates are required with inset grooved plywood panels that will match our house frontage and garage door. Gate 1 can be swung from an existing --- fence post, but will require a second (rebated or battened) post on which to close .This post will pass through, and be cemented in place to, an existing exposed aggregate concrete pathway, which will require careful cutting and removal of earth and concrete to minimize damage to its surroundings . Gate 2 Will be of similar size and construction but will straddle a pathway and two adjacent garden beds. It will require three posts and two short lengths of trellis to match an existing screen made from Kwilla deck tread. I have intentionally not given any dimensions, as this job will require careful on-site inspection, measurement and discussion as to method of construction. I do not want any diagonal bracing on the gate frames, so traditional timber jointing methods will apply. The gate frames will also require a 13mm rebate on all four sides to inset the 10mm grooved plywood panel. I am happy for each gate to be considered as a separate contract with gate 1 being the greater need.
