We are currently going through the process to get our Certificate of Acceptance from Council for a new beam in our kitchen. We have had the report back from our structural engineer and there are a couple of bits of minor work that we need a builder to do. - Confirm the number of under studs supporting Beam 3 within the internal wall by removing the internal lining. If there are less than --- studs, please install additional trimmer stud against the existing support stud and well nail this trimmer to the existing stud. - Install blocking between bearers and flooring directly under beam supports if there is no blocking or joists directly under. Blocking should be minimum 90x90mm SG8 timber and be solidly packed between the flooring and bearer so there is a direct load transfer to the piles. It should be about a half days work.
