Replace rotten board of wood

I need to remove the rotten wood pictured and replace with new. I think you call it a rake board just below the roof line. Have included wider photo to show access required to get to board. I have painters coming in a couple of weeks who can paint it so no need to paint. Also would be good to see if there is a leak behind the board when it is off, possibly in the flashing, and patch up.
