Block gaps under fence to stop dog escaping!

We have a wooden fence with posts and struts but the neighbours have taken out trees from the other side & now our little dog squeezes out the bottom of the fence, though small gaps. We have about 9 x 6" x 1" boards about 1.7m, long. the boards need to be trimmed to the length between posts & fitted on the ground & into the dirt a bit & nailed/held in place There are obstacles so you'd need to be a bit nimble. It would be more pleasant for you if it hadn't been raining
