Cut wood to size

This current built-in bench, which is only ~40cm deep, needs extending as per the marked up photos, to be deep enough for use as a study desk. We have identified a wooden desktop at Bunnings which will do the job (photo 3). It just needs to be cut to size (using the existing bench as a template) then secured in place with additional wall brackets (the brackets holding the current bench top are a bit wobbly and won't support a deeper desktop).
