Fitting rods for heavy drapes

I require three heavy duty rods to be fitted into the lounge area of a villa. The rods are required to hold a heavy set of drapes. The height from the floor for the rods is approx 3.6 meters. Each rod will be approx 1.7 meters in length. Previous experience with hanging rods in old houses is preferred. The rods have not been purchased as appropriate advice will be taken from trades person.
