I have an extraction hood being delivered to the street outside my shop. I need it taken inside - that's all. Sounds easy, right? It's not. The delivery point is one side of the building and the entrance to my shop is on the adjacent side. The total distance to move it is about 50 metres. Most of it is flat with a shallow sloping ramp into the building. But the hood is LARGE and it weighs about 300 kg. My suggestion would be to use 2 hand operated fork hoists; tip the hood on its side and put one fork hoist on each end. That would require only 2 strong men and the fork hoists. Otherwise it will need about 6 guys to lift it (or 4 really strong guys). Oh, and the other thing is the delivery will be around 5 - 6 am. I'm hoping to get it delivered on Monday but of course this will depend on when I can find someone to do the lift. The thing cost a fortune so there's no room for error. I don't have a vehicle big enough to carry 2 hand operated fork hoists so that will be part of the job to organize and on-charge to me.
