Weld rust spots and holes in van

My work van failed WOF on a few small rust spots including under-bonnet and underbody. Vehicle will need to be raised to access underbody spots. I thought about buying a cheap gasless welder from Bunnings and giving it a crack myself, but if there's someone out there who can do it for a reasonable price, be my guest. I'm not looking for a pretty job, just bodge some weld in there and that will keep them happy.
