cat door

Job description

Dog & Cat Door Installation
Palmerston North

Published: 25 January 2018

I have an existing dog door that is entirely serviceable. It is sitting in a glass window but because of the size of the dog door and its functions, it would easily allow a small child to crawl through it. Because of where it is positioned, it therefore compromises pool safety legislation and it is non compliant. To replace the dog door with something that would enable me to be compliant but also allow the cat to come and go is the best outcome. It is not possible to replace one for one because of the size of the hole cut in the class is 385mm. I need a hole that is approximately 300mm +/-15mm either way. My options are twofold. Remove the cat door and replace the glass entirely meaning the cat cannot come and go or replace the glass and insert a 300mm hole in the glass. In this case I will provide the cat door that is RFID capable and probably fit it as well. The glass pane is 1055mm x 660mm. I'm pretty sure it's not safety or double glazed but this would need to be confirmed. I therefore need both options costed before I make a decision. The cat door is close to $300 on its own so I'm likely to be price sensitive. The job needs to be completed by 1 Feb at the latest in order to meet safety inspection deadlines.
