Polishing and staining wooden stairs

Recently removed carpet from wooden stairs and now needs sanding, polishing, and staining to have it look nice and matching the rest of the house. Stairs are individual planks and aren't connected to each other except for the support and at the railings. Therefore staining needs to be on all faces of each plank of stair. Also in need of having the house's skirting painted.
