Our house was built in 1966 and in 2012 we added a granny flat utilizing the existing garage concrete floor. At this stage a waterproof membrane was applied. A new garage was built adjacent to this structure. We now find that we have a damp patch of carpet, clearly the water proofing has failed. The worrying part is that about three years ago we had to get the new garage re-levelled due to sinking foundations and this leak may be due to the same issue. We need expert advice!
