Job description

Vinyl Flooring
North Shore

Published: 14 April 2017

We wish to replace aged vinyl floor covering in our kitchen and aged carpet in an adjoining dining room. The area involved would be roughly 50 Square metres with upstand onto kickboards in the kitchen of benches of roughly ten metres, including a stand-alone island bench in the middle of the room. The job would include removing the old vinyl (glued) and the old carpet (and removing if possible). We are looking to use vinyl in the $25-$40 range and have some midrange samples in mind. Scope: Remove old coverings and prepare floors, pick-up or purchase our vinyl of choice and install and hopefully dump the old vinyl and carpet as we are an older couple and cant really drag the stuff around. Floors of the house appear to be particle board from 1960s and are in pretty good condition. We are living in the house so ideally would like a one-visit job but we can live on takeaways for a couple of days if necessary. PS: photos were taken during rennovation so look a bit messy but give an idea of the layout.
