Floor replacement

My late 70s house has particle board flooring. I have discovered that the floor, under the carpet, in front of the living room ranchslider is rotten. I am not aware of the extent of the damage yet. The ranchslider also probably needs replacing. I would like to consider a more durable floor just in front of the ranchslider rather than particle board and without carpet.
