Building a new extension on an old workmans cottage / square-front villa and want to put wooden flooring down in the common areas of the new extension. The original cottage has Kauri floors and we are looking at American Oak or similar (will take recommendations but looking at the oak owing to its multi-use for staining etc) to provide an obvious difference between old and new. New wood floors will be direct fixing to the new concrete slab (painted on moisture barrier?) and then stained plus sealed as determined. Area to be covered is approx 80m2 although it will need a proper measure up. I am after somebody to supply the product, install and treat/seal to an agreed finished state. Mid-late September is the present timeframe depending on progress towards that point but keen to try and get some costs locked down well in advance of that.
