Metal storage box extension

I need to add a bottom unit to this storage. I was thinking some metal struts and mdf for the bottom shelf and sheet metal riveted or bolted to the back, side and some sort of secure door. The top has hydraulic openers and a one lift up piece, I appreciate something like that could be expensive so I am open to easier/cheaper options too.
