Stove-top elements & Outside sensor light

a) the elements on my stove now have only two settings; Full On and Off - turning the dial down to low doen't turn down the heat. The sensor on my outside light has stopped working - the light itself works, but it doesn't come on when someone walks in front of it.

Lovely chap, would recommend. Reduced cost where possible, suggested options and checked before assuming replacement was required.
