Job description

Rewiring
Wellington

Published: 14 October 2018

Summary Existing state • 13 sockets (10 doubles, 1 single, 1 towel rail and not sure about the cylinder socket) • 11 down lights • 4 halogen lights • 1 outdoor light Desired state • Keep existing 13 sockets • Add 15-18 new sockets (all expected to be double sockets, with the exception of two in bedroom 3 which would ideally be a double socket and have a usb port as well) • Replacement rewiring as required (as some wiring is very old) • 11 downlights replaced with led lights of equivalent size • 4 halogen lights replaced with usual bathroom lights of equivalent size • Ensure lights and sockets are working (2 light (outdoor and living room) and 1 socket (living room) identified as not working) • Add two new outdoor lights on the deck Further details • The house has had some rewiring done in the past so not all wires are old but would be guided by you as to what rubber wiring needs to be replaced • Everything we are suggesting is negotiable. If something is too difficult or costly to do, we are happy to not do it or adjust location or style as required • There is really good under house access or half the house (bedroom 1, 3, living room and possibly the hallway as shown in photo) • There is attic access through the wardrobe in bedroom 3 • Power box/meter is outside front door Total house sqm 100 While we have provided a summary of work desired and a rough drawing of the house and location of electrics, we would expect / welcome you to come over and view the house, including the access and extent of rewiring work required prior to finalising the quote. Happy for the quote to be one amount for all the work required (excluding the rewiring of existing cable/sockets) and then secondary amount per meter of rewiring (if that is possible)
