Disconnect power from bookcase island

We want to remove a free-standing island unit from a bedroom. This unit has mains power wired in which Is used for ceiling light switching and also a mains power socket. The mains power cabling comes through the floor and up into the unit. We’d like to disconnect and remove this mains power cabling so we can remove the island.
