Electrical Renovations
Wellington

Published: 18 January 2017

Job 1 I am installing a home-office with a wall-bed. The bed needs to go over recessed cupboard which houses the internet. On the other side of the wall there is a gas fireplace, with an alcove and cupboards on either side. We'd like the internet and sockets moved through, and fitted into one of the cupboards in the living room. The other cupboard already has electric sockets inside it, so we're pretty certain it shouldn't be too tricky, plus the wall hasn't been insulated yet. The cupboard also has wiring for Sky, which can be removed. Job 2 If there is a way of getting in-wall cables to the tv (wall mounted), that would be great, but it's an exterior wall, so might be tricky. Job 3 More sockets will have to be put in place in the office, they need to fit around the plans for the built-in bed, cupboards, shelves, desk, etc. Job 4 Move bedroom light switches either side of the bed (they were positioned for the king bed, and we can't reach them from our queen). Also interested in having 2x sockets with USB installed by the bed to replace standard sockets. Job 5 Hallway - remove a whole load of sockets and cables. Put in a socket or two at floor level. Job 6 There are three sets of holes in the wall with plug sockets in them for TVs were, we plan on plastering over these but would like the plug sockets disconnected for safety. Job 7 Kitchen - underfloor heating panel won't turn on. It would be great to have someone look at it, but it's not a priority. Probably want work done around mid Feb.
