Replace burnt fuse in outside meterboard

Electricity flickering on and off the last couple of days and neighbours reported burning smell. Vector inspector came round to check and says the fuse on the outside meterboard is burnt out and needs replacing. No power for me and my two kids and we don't have gas- help!
