Job description

Extractor Fans
Auckland

Published: 29 July 2023

Our extractor fan in our bathroom has stopped working. The light still works as it should and I can hear the fan motor running but it’s obviously not spinning so doing nothing to extract anything from the bathroom. It is ceiling mounted and ducted through the attic where there is an external flap. Everything is currently there with regards to holes, external grilles/vents and wiring etc. This job is simply to take the existing unit out and replace it with a like for like new system. The cutout in the ceiling for the fan/light unit looks to be 150mm but I will measure and confirm. The current unit is pretty old I imagine so would like to get a decent quality replacement preferably with an LED light though. If there was a possibility of the replacement unit being a fan/LED light/heater model without too much hassle or extra expense then that would be ideal. However the heating function would need to be on its own switch so we can choose to use it in winter only etc. Currently the main light switch only has two switches: 1). Main bathroom lights 2). Fan & light So this option would require replacing the existing switch to include 3x switches to allow for: 1). Main bathroom lights 2). Fan & light 3). Heating function We have attic stairs built right next to this bathroom so access to the attic ducting, electrical cables and for ease of installation of the new unit is all very easy. Please let me know if there’s any extra information that’s needed to make pricing this job easier. Thanks.
