Join internal fibre optic broadband cable please!

I need someone to re-join the tiny fibre optic cable on my broadband wall unit 'thingy' (I have no idea what it is called). I didn't know my new fibre connection was reliant on a tiny bright coloured cable sitting behind a clip on cover until my 3 year old nephew decided my new "space ship" on the wall looked like great fun to play with!!. I had to cut the tiny cable that connects into the wall unit. Can anyone re-connect it for me or do I need to take a full day off work and pay chorus to re-do it. Thanks
