Switchboards
Auckland

Published: 26 May 2021

This is an early 1970's unit that needs a switchboard upgrade for some renovation work that is being carried out. We have added a 400x400mm manhole above where the old board is and the new board would be, and we have already run some new cables to the relevant areas, the new switchboard needs to be lower down, to the left of the existing board. The new cables run include 2x new 2.5mm to kitchen and laundry area, and an extra 1.5mm lighting cable. We have also run brand new RG6 antenna cables to both the existing Sky satellite dish, and enough room for a new Freeview antenna (to be installed), as well as Cat 6 network cables for phone and internet. We want the tv/phone/network hub to be in the place of the old switchboard, so have run the cables there in expectation. We obviously need a new distribution board (possibly 20 way?) and the various MCB's as well, OR we can supply this, as we have a Trade account with Ideal Electrical presently. The main job wanting the quote for (which is now urgent) is the switchboard upgrade. We would also like prices on the following: 1) fitting off the kitchen area when installed (6mm cable for stove there already) for dishwasher, waste disposal, rangehood, and some wall plugs. All walls are off currently. Also outdoor plug needed outside kitchen wall for Rinnai infinity gas water heater. 2) install new extractor fan from bathroom across kitchen ceiling to outside with 150mm ducting, probably inline fan. Ceiling is open well. 3) fit off various new plugs around the lounge, dining, bathroom, laundry, and one bedroom wall (all walls open and exposed currently, with no gib 4) allow for future Air-conditioner unit in lounge so separate cable to switch board (needed) 5) cut out holes and install 4 downlights in lounge, 2 dining room, 2-3 kitchen, and 2-3 pendants in kitchen, plus an extra light in laundry area. 6) connect the RG6 and Cat 6 network cables up inside Dynamix purpose made box, to the wall plugs (cables already run). 7) install Freeview antenna (to be supplied) on roof, and connect Sky cable to satellite dish, both with RG6 cable already run. And possible other various bits and pieces, but we'd like quote into various sections above to make decisions easier (or major parts combined if easier). Ideally labour only, but happy to get you to supply distribution board and MCB's if this is more appropriate.
