Fix bathroom heater fan combo unit

A contact is missing from 1 of the heater bulb socket of the heater fan unit in our bathroom and hence the bulb does not work. I need to know if this can be repaired or does a whole new unit need to go in. The current cut out in the ceiling is diamond shaped to fit the current unit and most of the new units for sale appear to be a rectangle size. If a new unit is required I need to know if I will require another handy man to do the cut out or will the electrician be able to do this.
