we have a small job at Yale rd Mt Cook Wellington City its about 12m2 in front of the house that is draining towards the house causing water to flow under the house and against the cladding. we want to direct that flow to the northern boundary and into the curb and channels. I think the existing ground level in the front of the house needs to be dropped 2 to 300mm so that the Finished concrete level (100mm thick) is not higher than the bottom of the house cladding. NOTE there are pipes in this area. I would suggest that the concrete is not connected to the house but is 2-300 away. that the concrete falls away to the street and northern boundary. or possibly a strip drain running in that direction in the middle of the proposed drive. between the house and the concrete, a 2 to 300mm wide strip of pebbles place with a nova flow pipe and sock to take water to the northern boundary. The flashing under the bottom cladding needs to be replaced, that will need to be installed behind the cladding. that will be easier when the site gets cut. There needs to be an upstand to prevent water flowing down the road into the property. over the years council have resealed the road and built it up so that the current street level is higher than the area outside the house. When the concrete parking area is placed an upstand can be formed then to replace the council asphalt upstand on the road to stop water running into the front yard. it may need a strip drain. 1) through the middle of the proposed concreted area to the northern boundary (by the gas meters) the sewer inspection pipe will need to be extended to the new concrete level.
