Channel Drain/Driveway Channel

We have a too small channel that gets easily blocked by leaves etc. and may in the past have caused the garage floor to flood, judging by some rotted bottom plates. We would like to replace this with a wider, more effective one, that is covered with a grate. Currently, it just discharges on the ground in the back yard where we may want a better solution that keeps the water away from the walls of the house. We may also want to install a new channel alongside the driveway, feeding into the existing one.
