Cut back carpet and install timber/aluminium

Looking for a carpet layer to cut back a small section of damaged carpet to the smooth edge and then to install a strip of timber or aluminium to cover up where the carpet was. This is the agreed remediation for a condensation issue, per advice from window installer.
