Job description

Carpet Repair & Stretching
Wellington

Published: 8 November 2018

I am looking for a carpet tradesperson to cut existing carpet to install a floor packer that will sit under a new glass sliding door. The sliding doors are a double wardrobe set and cannot be installed on carpet. Some repair may also be required as the wardrobe frame required replacing and the footprint of the old frame is larger than the new one. The packer is 10cm wide and will arrive with the doors. I considered doing it myself but I'd like the job to look professional. As you can see from the photos, the packer (blue) may not cover the entire area of floor so there are gaps in the carpet. A professional will be able to do a better job of this kind of repair.

Barry was a pleasure to deal with, got back to me instantly and organised the work at to suit my tight schedule. Couldn't ask for more, period. Worker showed up a tad early! A very pleasant surprise. I explained the job and worked with the carpet person. He cut the carpet incorrectly but fixed the issue, and Barry felt bad when he heard and halved the price. Can't beat that anywhere. Thanks folks.

Tradesperson reply
"Thanks very much for the glowing comments and apologies for the little error. Occasionally, even the best of us can make a mistake, but it’s how you deal with the mistake that leaves the lasting impression. As Alan Martin used to say, it’s the putting right that counts. Cheers, Barry Timms Capital Chem-Dry"
