The floors in our apartment creak badly in a few (4-5) places. They are some kind of chipboard, which is nailed down. Covered in carpet everywhere except the kitchen which is vinyl. I hope all that is needed is to pull up the carpet to reach the creaky areas, screw the boards down firmly then refit the carpet. I don't know what options there are for the kitchen, would need to discuss if it is economical to fix (the problem is not as bad in there). There are internal stairs which also creak but if they will be too complex/expensive to repair we will put up with them. Apartment was built in 1999.

Colin did a very good job on our floors. He even gave us a bit of free advice on other issues and was flexible when our requirements changed slightly. He was very responsive to email communication.
