Fill gap in carpet left by removal of a wall

A wall has been removed, and the resulting gap needs to be filled. The whole gap is 3.5m long, mostly 7cm wide, but 1.2m at one end is 10cm wide. The base floor is concrete. I have enough carpet for the job, but not no underlay.
