soffit repair - x2

Soffit repair in two places - single level home, slight fall away in one of the areas. One is from water damage, the other where replacement incoming power line left a hole. the first may also require refixing the guttering. the second may need to have power switched off, i'm unsure - I would be guided by you, the electrician mentioned tiger tails (?) - your safety if important. my preference would be to have the job finished - ie painted, complete. I'm looking to have this job completed soon, birds are taking an interest in nesting in the hole.
