Repair to water damage

Water is getting under the house and is causing a damp patch on the carpet under the stairs. The house sits very close to the ground. Also the front porch has some water damage to it which looks to come from above so may be spouting related. So I have said carpentry but might involve a plumber as well.

There ended up 3 parts to this job with no successful conclusion to the water ingress. Alan was the only builder who suggested a hose test but it remains a mystery. He mended some rotten bits of wood on the porch and replaced a rotten door outside for me and did some painting of the bits hard to reach. There was a delay of a couple of days in starting but that was ok and Alan is a thoroughly nice chap to have doing work around the place, tidy and professional and he likes cats :) Very happy with the standard of work - I asked him to come back to tidy a couple of little things and it was done with no fuss.
