Job description

House Repair & Maintenance
Wellington

Published: 5 January 2021

There are two jobs. The first is replacing four weatherboards (shown) that have quite significant rot. The second is more complicated - replacing four rotting sections of cladding on a balustrade (shown and numbered 1-4) and the triangular battens on their joins. The current material is Carter Holt Harvey Shadowclad but it doesn't appear to have been treated. As it's mostly hidden from view, I'd like to replace the current material with marine ply or something that will weather better long term. The complication is that the top of the balustrade has been finished with Chevaline Dexx and any replacement is likely to cut into that and require repairs.
