My deck has got some rotting boards, and some other parts have exposed nails , some of the joins between boards are rotting, and some other areas there is no support from underneath. Im keen ot get all of these things fixed. Suspect it will be a tricky job - taking up existing boards and re nailing them or even replacing some. It could be that the easiest approach would be to replace baords with a join with a longer piece - so no need forthe join. Hence sourcing old timber might be the trick as want to ensure a consistent look. (or ageing some new decking timber) Also Im keen to extend the deck around the back by the hose(see photo) . Probably another 3-4 metres. there is a small tatty earth pathway that does not really work and I want to extend the existing deck over this area which will make it work a lot better.
