Hi folks, We've purchased a house built in 1939 which has an approx. 15cm hole low down in the wooden cladding on the south side of the house. The edges of the hole show evidence of rot, and the interior of the house shows evidence of damp, likely due to to water egress through the hole in the cladding. We move in on 15th May, and would ideally like to get some builders in as soon as possible to assess and quote for replacement of the affected cladding and framing, as well as installation of insulation whilst the side of the house is accessible. Since the extent of the damp and rot is currently unknown, we'll be looking for worst-case-scenario quotes. We'll also be looking for quotes outside of BuildersCrack to help with budgeting. Thanks! Dom
