Weatherproof Issue

There is one 1 metre length weatherboard we noticed with obvious rot . The board runs from the chimney breast to the window frame and is 4 up from the bottom. It is rotten where the board meets the bottom left corner of the window (photos attached). On pressing the surface, water comes out of the board. Apart from replacing the rotten board, we need to find the source of the leak and fix. A cursory look shows no obvious area and none of the other boards are showing signs of rot. Should any work necessitate the removal of internal linings then we would want the wall re-gibbed and plastered to a paint finish, which I will paint.
