Replace window sash

We need two wooden window frames either replaced or repaired 1350 height x 910 width. I have been quoted $800 per window for replacement. I can't afford that right now so hoping someone can just do a temporary job until I can save up. The wood is rotten and the window can't be closed. I am making the enquiries on behalf of elderly mother.
