Deck repair

We have an existing deck. The hand rails are coming away from the main deck floor. It looks like the original deck design was rubbish. The hand rails need strengthening to ensure they dont fall off. I have added a photo showing up under the deck. The big beam on the left has the hand rails attached to it. However the way the big beam is attached to the rest of the deck is not good. You can see day light where it is coming away from the small piece of timber it is nailed to. The second photo shows the hand rails on a lean. There is also a similar issue on the other side of the deck.
