This job is to replace a rotten beam end in a carport (supporting a Laserlite roof & fittings for a carport door rail) - the beam has rotted where it comes into contact with the top of a brick post, and is exposed to the weather. Site access is good (flat access, directly on the road), and there is electricity and water available in the car port. The job is to: support the carport beam as needed; remove carport door rail fittings as necessary; cut out the rotten carport beam end; replace the beam end with H3.2 treated timber (to be supplied), sized & shaped to match the existing beam ends, and spliced or joined to the rest of the beam; place a butynol membrane (to be supplied) between brick post and new beam end to prevent recurrent rot; replace garage door rail fittings back onto the new beam end. The new piece of timber, butynol and any fixings are to be supplied.
