Replace Water Damaged Gib and skirting board

Job description

I have a downstairs room which received water damage from a leaking pipe (not flood damage) for a prolonged time. The leak was fixed early in 2024, however the extent of the damage is bigger than I thought. Everything is dry now, however I think when the gib is removed we will find that the cowboys who did the renovation prior to me buying the house (10 yrs ago) did not line this room (below ground on two sides) properly. This could require more than simply replacing Gib. I would welcome advice on how to proceed.

"Fantastic work by the guys, who were very friendly, laughed a lot and were very respectful of our home. While the work took a little longer than expected, this was mainly because we asked for extras which were simply added and completed with a smile. Great work. Highly recommended."
