C.O.A for a deck extension

Job description

Decking & Pergolas
Glen Eden, Waitakere

Published on 27 December 2024

We have a deck extension that needs a C.O.A. It has been assessed and requires bracing on the new section. A LBP will be needed please. The assessor says the following is needed: - The new deck joists require joist hangers at the connection to the existing deck. The bolted bearer to the piles is not checked in and is bolted only a second bearing piece to opposite is recommended. - There are no mechanical connections from the joists to the larger boundary joist. This will require CPC connections at every joist. - There is no bracing in either direction. The building code states all decks wider than 2.0 m must have bracing.
